ASUS’s collection of notebooks continued to grow rapidly with the launch of its latest model, the ASUS N50V. This model is aimed at both students and home users who do not mind putting a few more bucks into their purchase for getting something that is right up there with some of the best new releases around.

You may be forgiven for thinking that ASUS have just released two models exactly the same, and that is because it bears a striking similarity to the N20A. However, it could not be more different in terms of its specs.

The display is a fairly decent 15.4”, which will be suitable for most users, and the ASUS N50V also boasts some pretty impressive-sounding features.

The Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) is one such feature, which is comprised of the Power4 Gear Hybrid application and the Energy Processing Unit (EPU). All of these add up to provide the user with significantly more battery life, which ASUS claim is as high as an additional 35 per cent.

One feature that will be welcomed by those in a rush is the Express Gate, which provides an incredible boot-up time of just eight seconds, which is pretty quick no matter how much of a rush you are in.

But it gets better: the ASUS N50V is built to please all of those gadget fans and safety freaks by coming with the latest state-of-the-art features such as a finger print reader and facial recognition software. This means that not only will it be very hard for anyone else to get access to your notebook, but that you will get to feel like a secret agent every time you turn it on.

And on top of this, it has a novel Air Ionizer built into it that cleans that air around you by purifying it of germs, as well as increasing air flow and circulation. With these environmental applications included, this is one notebook that seems to have it all.
