Here is another new laptop from Asus in the Vivobook range; these are touch screen laptops designed to work with the latest Microsoft Windows 8 operating system. It looks like we are going to be looking at a completely new range of laptops with touch screen technology. This is the Vivobook S400, it is the bigger brother of the Vivobook S200, in fact, this laptop actually qualifies as being an ultra book as it is powered by the latest Intel “Ivy Bridge” processors with Intel graphics and fast starting technology allow the user to get up and running within seconds.

There are not many features available for the ASUS Vivobook S400 (S400CA-DH51T) laptop, but here is what we have at the moment. It comes with a 14.1 inch touch screen with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in web camera too. Being the latest touch screen laptop from Asus it will be running the latest Windows 8 operating system from Microsoft and is powered by the Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5-3317U processor with 2 Cores and a 1.7 GHz clock speed that can be up to 2.6 GHz with Turbo boost.

The graphics will be coming from the Intel Integrated HD Graphics 4000 cards, while there is a small but usable 4 GB of DDR3 SDRAM memory and a Hybrid Drive with a 500 GB of 5400 RPM Serial ATA hard disk drive (HDD) and there is a 24 GB solid state drive (SSD) available. There are two standard style USB ports available, one super fast connecting USB 3.0 ports. It measures in at 13.30 inches (W) x 0.80 inches (D) x 9.40 inches (H) and it weighs in at a light 4.4 pounds or two kilos.

Currently this smart looking laptop is listed on Amazon at around $700, which is not a bad price for such a fully loaded laptop; this laptop is available right now as it was launched last week.
