Asus introduces the K53U laptop
Asus are on the move again with another new laptop being launched, this time it is initially in the Japanese market, but the Asus K53U is a nice looking and well built machine, it must eventually become available in the US at some later date, although this is something that is never going to be taken for granted.
In any case, the Asus K53U laptop is an interesting addition to the company’s range of laptops, with the buyer will be getting a nice sized screen of 15.6 inches with a 16:9 ratio high definition LED back light display with 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions. The K53U will be powered by either the AMD Fusion APU E-350 (Dual Core) or the C-50 (Dual Core) 1.6 GHz to 1.0 GHz processor.
Graphics and video will come from either the AMD Radeon high definition 6310 card built into the E-350 (Dual Core) or the AMD Radeon high definition 6250 card with the C-50 (Dual Core) processor.
Memory consists of the DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM and 2 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 G SDRAM and as expected the machine will be running the Genuine Windows 7 Home Basic operating system with options to upgrade to higher versions.
Other features include the Super Multi DVD player and Blue-ray reader, 4 in 1 card reader ( SD/ MS/ MS Pro/ MMC); the K53U also has the all important 0.3 Mega Pixel Fixed web camera built into the display frame.
While networking features come in the shape of the integrated 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi and there is the option to go with built-in Bluetooth V2.1+ EDR too. Brilliant sound will be heard from the Altec Lansing Speakers and finally for portability Asus have included a good size 6 Cell battery with 5200 mAh 56 Whrs.
