Here’s an interesting question: Are Wifi cell phones sexy?
It depends on what you mean by sexy.
Back in the early to mid nineties, a cell phone of any type was considered a status symbol. Guys would carry them around on hip holsters, like cowboys or something, and talk into them as loudly as humanly possible while standing right next to the prettiest girl he could find. The end result was usually a slap in the face or a restraining order.
So can cell phones actually improve your sex appeal? Sure, but here’s the trick: You have to pull it out discreetly and act like it’s not a big deal.
But for techies, sexiness takes on a whole other meaning. There was some Weird Al Yankovic video where he’s playing a nerdy guy who puts up a centerfold image of, not a beautiful woman in a bathing suit, but a Pentium processor. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but the truth about geek-love isn’t so far off.
Something about being able to watch Youtube videos on a cell phone really does bring out the animal in many of us. Being able to play music from your Bluetooth enabled phone on a Bluetooth enabled car stereo is equally sexy.
So the answer to that question is yes, wifi phones aren’t just sexy, they’re DEAD SEXY, but it depends on who you are.
As they say, different strokes for different folks. Some people will just never understand the undeniable sex appeal of a Bluetooth headset the size of a nickel, the primal heat and passion a nerd will feel when eyeing a Wifi phone that can not only go to Gmail and check your inbox, but one that has a wide enough screen with a high resolution so that you can actually read the email at all.
We may or may not have ever thrown an issue of Mobile Magazine under the mattress when mom called us out for dinner. When we got our first iPhones, we may or may not have felt like we were cheating on our girlfriends. The fact remains that technology will always be sexy. An awesome new Wifi phone makes life easier in any number of ways, and it’s just a fun gadget to *AHEM* “fool around” with. So for now, and for well into the foreseeable future, Wifi phones are, and will continue to be, definitely really, really sexy.
