We’ve only just got over months of speculation culminating in the release of Google’s Nexus One mobile phone and now we’ve another rumour to talk about and this time it concerns Apple’s 4G iPhone.
Yep things move fast in the technology and SmartPhone world.
We all know that Google’s Nexus One phone and the Apple iPhone 3G are kind of competing with each other, I mean the Google phone is probably the best competitor for the iPhone we’ve seen so far.
So is Apple trying to steal some of Google’s thunder and ensure their dominance by bringing out a new and improved iPhone as quickly as possible?
The latest we’ve heard is that we’re about to see some interesting features in the iPhone including an OLED screen (doesn’t the Google phone have an OLED screen?) a dual core processor, a removable battery (like the Nexus One too), better graphics and camera, also video chat and more.
Now the odd one out on this list seems to be the removable battery and many are already asking why Apple would want to incorporate a removable battery when they’ve been moving away from this and have been integrating batteries into their devices, even in some laptops, for a while now, so why would they want to change?
Anyway it might not be true and who cares about a battery when there’s so much more to talk about, the point is, are Apple and Google embroiled in a battle of the SmartPhones?
The latest info originally came from the Korea Times who say they got their info from high ranking executives from Korea Telecom, Apple’s exclusive partner in South Korea. The executives of course don’t want to be named.
Now in the past Apple have had a bit of regular pattern of releasing upgraded versions of the iPhone in June, however, according to the rumours, the release of the upgraded 4G iPhone may happen earlier.
“KT and Apple have reached a broad consensus to introduce the advanced models as early as possible,” said an unnamed executive.
So why the great rush?
According to Korea Times, Apple is pushing out the iPhone earlier in order to counter the rising interest in Google’s Android SmartPhones.
Ah, now that makes sense, so I wonder what Google will do next?
Oh I nearly forgot we’ve got the second generation Nexus to look forward to and Google have already started talking about that.
It’s all getting rather exciting.
