Another new ultrabook from HP

It seems that just as you see one new ultrabook there is another quickly on its tail, this time it is HP who are hoping to capture the headlines with the launch of the new ENVY14-3108TU SPECTRE. This is a fourteen inch version of the SPECTRE that  offers i5 Intel Core processing power as well Intel chipset and graphics features. However, this is an Ultrabook and as such, it should be light and thin, which it is at 1.8 kilos and 20 mm thick.

This is a smart looking laptop with really nice finish, but looks are not everything and the best way to gauge how just how good this laptop is by taking a look at what is under the hood! The ENVY14-3108TU SPECTRE has a 14.0 inch HD + Radiance type display with a 1600 × 900 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in HP TrueVision HD 1.0 mega pixel web camera.

It will be running on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Service Pack 1 operating system. It will be powered by the Intel Core i7-3667U 2.0 processor with up to 3.10 GHz maximum, 4 MB L3 cache and supporting the Intel Turbo Boost Technology, Mobile Intel HM76 Express chipset and Intel HD 4000 graphics.

There is a maximum of 8 GB (8192 MB × 1) of PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) available, and a very light and slim 256 GB solid state drive (SSD) made up as two 128 GB SSD mSATA units. Networking has the normal Gigabit LAN built-in with automatic recognition (10/100/1000); there is Bluetooth 4.0 and a Built-in wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, with on & off button.

Other features include the HDMI out, Mini Display Port, one fast connecting USB3.0 port with USB charge support power-off feature), one standard USB 2.0 port also with USB charge support power-off feature and a network port (RJ45). Audio come from the Compliance IDT High Definition Audio supported by the Beats Audio stereo speakers

This SPECTRE will measure up at 327 mm (W) × 221 mm (D) × 20 mm (H) and weigh in at 1.79 kilos and that with the 4 cell Lithium-ion battery in place that HP say will go for up 9 hours and 45 minutes, which is really good!

HP will be putting the ENVY14-3108TU SPECTRE on sale as from today where it will have a starting price of just over $1,900.
