Acer introduces the TravelMate P243
There is a new TravelMate P243 on the way from Acer, it is a 14 inch, Intel powered laptop with Nvidia graphics and it is supposed be hitting the store this month! Acer is aiming at the business user with this model, although it has to be said that this laptop is a good choice for most users due to the choice of either a 2nd generation Sandy Bridge i3 or 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Intel core processor. This of course, will affect the price by around a $100, so the choice is there for the buyer.
The new TravelMate P243 comes with fourteen inch high-definition LED backlit display with a 16:9 aspect ratio with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and a built in web camera too. It will be powered by either the 2nd generation Sandy Bridge Intel core i3 or 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Intel core i5 processor, with graphics coming from the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics card. There is up to 8 GB of RAM of internal memory and there will be up to 750 GB hard disk drive (HDD) available for storage. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, super fast connecting USB 3.0 port with power off charging and an HDMI port.
According to Gregg Prendergast, who is the vice president of commercial sales for Acer America, he said the company press release; ”Today’s mobile business executive needs a PC that is robust enough to run intensive business applications while still fitting into strict budget guidelines. The TravelMate P243 notebook is an important addition to our professional notebook portfolio, as it combines everything today’s road warrior requires, including exceptional performance, enterprise-level security, durability and manageability for a best-in-class mobile experience.”
The TravelMate P243 will go on sale in the US this month with the second Generation Intel Core i3 processor version starting from $600. While the third generation Intel Core i5 processor powered model will start from $700.
