If the Asus’ Transformer Prime seemed a little too expensive for your taste, don’t worry, you get another opportunity at owning a Tegra 3-powered tablet which comes with a more affordable price tag. Courtesy of Acer, we will see very soon on the market the new Iconia Tab A510.
The tablet will come with a 10.1” screen and will feature a 1280×800 display. Apart from that it will cost just a cool $449.99. That’s $50 less than what Asus is offering with the similar model. The Acer device also features a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 SoC with 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage by microSD.
An interesting addition to the Acer offer is the battery. It’s an impressive 32.26Whr and even though it does not match the iPad but it is certainly well above what the Prime offers. This guarantees for more than 12 hours of video play (we’re assuming that people who want to buy such a device are very interested in playing games with it).
Customers also get 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1. a 1MP front-facing camera and 5MP rear camera plus a bunch of preinstalled apps which include Polaris Office, Clear.fi for streaming media between phones, tablets and computers. The tablet will be sporting Android 4.0 of course, plus Acer’s Ring UI.
The tablet first popped out at CES 2012 in the form of a special Olympic edition. That means that besides packing that awesome gear we’ve been telling you about, you get a very stylish silver on black Olympic logo on the hood of your device. So far, the edition is only available in the UK, so external users will have make-do with the standard version.
