Acer has been showing off an interesting laptop that has been designed for the business user, it comes with long battery life, weighs under four pounds and Acer have managed to fit a fourteen inch display into a 13.3 inch frame!

This is what the TravelMate Timeline 8481T has on offer, a 14 inch Acer ComfyView LCD LED back lit display with HD 16.9 aspect ratio and 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution.

It will be powered by a second generation Intel Core i5 processor with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 technology and yet it only has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000, we guess business users don’t play games, so therefore graphics are not on the top of the buyers wish list.

There is a 4 GB of DDR3 memory but this can be upgraded to 8 GB if required, it also has a 320 GB SATA hard drive at 7200RPM and there is the Disk Anti-Shock Protection (DASP) technology too.

Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB 3.0 ports. Yet this laptop is just 0.87 inches thick and weighs in at 3.7 pounds. Acer claims that the eight cell lithium ion battery can offer up to 13 hours of use, but seeing is believing!

According to Acer America VP of commercial sales and marketing Gregg Prendergast, in the Acer Press Release;

The price of this laptop will be around $1,000 when it is launched in the US and in Canada sometime in September.
