In today’s mail I received my confirmation from the Library of Congress on my Copyright for a song I recently wrote about an X girlfriend (from over 6 years ago) who has been on my mind a lot lately… so now I’m going to post the words here for the masses to look at and give me some criticism and feedback on it. Please don’t ask who she is or any details because I won’t share. I just want to know how you feel about the words:
Mornings I awaken
Thinking how I let you be taken
But of course an angel can’t remain free
And I go to sleep at night
Knowing someone else holds you tight
Dreaming of the nights you were holding me
I can’t go on as just a friend
Try to smile and just pretend
I need the hope that someday soon
We will be together again
Someday soon – I will be with you
Someday soon – maybe tomorrow
Someday soon – seems so far away
Someday soon – I’ll have you
Sometimes it’s hard to hide
The feelings that are still inside
But for now some things are better left unsaid
I don’t think it’s wrong
Keeping my feelings in a quiet song
Until the day I can make them loud and strong instead
I can’t go on as just a friend
Try to smile and just pretend
I need the hope that someday soon
We will be together again
