A 90’s Craze Worth Remembering
Some of you may remember the 90’s craze where you had to look into a picture that appeared to be a random array of colours and dots and identify the 3D image hidden within that picture. Although they are not as popular now, these images are still fun to look at. However, many people still find it extremely difficult to see the image and sadly, a few have even resorted to lying about being able to do so in order not to be outdone. So for those of you who still haven’t mastered the art of the Magic Eye images, here’s how to do it.
Stare at the centre of the image from a distance of about 12 inches and allow your eyes to go into a sort of day dream where the image will appear a little fuzzy. Try to look through the image rather than at it. As you are staring at the picture in your dreamlike state the 3D image will appear as if by magic and the longer you look at it the clearer it will become. If it doesn’t work first time don’t give up. Another method is to print out the image and hold it right up to your nose and then very slowly move the image away whilst staring at the centre, again, the magical image hidden inside should suddenly appear.
The following are some of the 3D images produced by Magic Eye; more are available on the Magic Eye website. What you should be seeing is printed above each image.
1. Sea horses and a starfish
2. A unicorn
3. A love heart
4. A Mandala
5. Animals in a forest
6. A girl holding a vase
7. A guy on a boat in Venice
8. A construction worker
9. Reindeer having fun
10. Three witches round a cauldron
