Hidden Treasures

Yesterday I decided after much delay and just plain being lazy to start going through boxes in my garage.

Some of these boxes haven’t been opened in at least two years.

At first glance, all I saw was a pile of heavy, dusty boxes which made me remember why I’ve put this off for so long but once I started moving the boxes around I was thinking about some of the things I’ve been missing and thought were lost forever.

About 10 minutes into my cleaning adventure, I came across a box with what looked like a bunch of trash and loose papers inside.

As I start digging through piles of stuff, I find some very important business files, two business card holders jam packed with 100’s of client names and numbers I thought were gone forever… so this made me very happy…

I’m about 40% through the boxes now. I have a lot more to do but now I’m motivated to continue on. Who knows what else I’ll find…

Cool Flashlight

So a few months ago there was this cool flashlight at Costco that doesn’t require batteries or to be plugged into a wall for charging. It’s the DuraPRO MegaBRITE. You just wind it up to charge it. The Costco deal was 2 for $20.00 and I figured they’ll be around for a while so I didn’t grab a set when I saw them. Bad move. Read on.

They were sold out when I went back a week later. Dammit. No cool flashlight for me.

Fast forward to this afternoon. My friend Philip gave me one. W00t!

Here is a picture of the blister pack:

I cranked it three times and left it turned on to see how long it would last. Well 4 hours later the thing is still glowing bright. From the reviews I’ve read, they can last up to 5-7 hours on just a few cranks. We shall see how long this thing can go.

Payphone photos wanted

I’m looking for pictures of payphones from around the world for a project of mine. If you can or want to help, let me know.

A couple requirements for your photo submissions:

Do not pose with your payphone. Scenes of local natives using your payphone are acceptable so long as they are not smiling and/or waving at the camera. The payphone itself is the subject.

If interested in helping me by providing photos of payphones, comment or contact me for more information.
